Day 2 Rocky Mountain National Park

We made an early start in perfect weather and hiked a couple of miles from Bear Lake to Nymph Lake and on to Dream Lake. Beautiful views all around and not many people. Then we drove along the Trail Ridge Road and reached almost 12,000 feet, which is easily the highest above sea level I have been without being cramped in a noisy aluminum tube with bad food.

After the Rockies, we drove west 120 miles to Craig, where we were disappointed to find the swimming pool closed. In fact, most things in Craig were closed, even the wine stores. We won't be staying here long. We had dinner at the golf course (!) where the children shared the largest mud pie west of the Mississippi. So far, all the portions have been large.
